Ambassel
Delicacies from the land of milk and honey
Just like the country itself, the cuisine of Ethiopia is isolated from that of the rest of Africa. This, however, also makes it one the purest indigenous cuisines. Thankfully you don’t have to travel to Addis to enjoy some fiery “berbere” (a red pepper paste) or a finger-licking-good “Goden Tibs” – sauteed riblets in seasoned butter. The Ambassel in old-Sachsenhausen offers you all this and a lot more.
Alt-Byblos
Cuisine from the Fertile Crescent
Byblos (“Jbail” in Lebanese Arabic) lies a 30 minute drive north of Beirut and is a modern town with an ancient heart – a warm mix of sophistication and tradition. These very same attributes characterise this excellent restaurant.
The interior decoration and ambiance are of a typical (Lebanese) classical elegance – white and blue – and the fare is authentic, which means fresh, tasty, plentiful and invigorating, combining the subtle flavours of Europe with the exotic spices of the Middle and Far East.
COA 2 – Eurotower
COA 1 – Börse
Funky Asian concepts – tasty, fresh and healthy food, fast and friendly staff, attractive prices – have been around for a while in cities like New York or London. Now, overlooking the Frankfurt stock-exchange, the COA offers this and a little more. It’s location on the pedestrian-only Schiller Strasse offers, at least in summer on the terrace, a good impression of Frankfurt’s business atmosphere.
